Came across all the all ireland finals since the mid-60's available on dvd at this site www.shamrocksuperstore.net

Going to get one for my granda. What would people here recommend as the best final?

Welcome to the board neilhere!

As in most sports, the ultimate match of the season / year is often an anticlimax, so it can be tough to find genuinely great finals.

If I had to pick three, I'd go for - in this order - 1982 (Kerry within minutes of the five-in-a-row, denied at the death by a sensational goal), 1998 (Galway upsetting Kildare with some majestic football) and 2002 (Armagh's great comeback for their first title).

Best of luck!

Much as I'm tempted to go for Tyrone 2005, have to agree with the last post. the 1982 final was sensational and not just the finish. Was a brilliant game throughout and great point taking, loads of drama and had the privelege of being there.

Wee plug there I notice...

Of the last ten years or so I don't think there've been too many great finals. Can't mind back as far as the 80s so what sticks out for me would be Tyrone - Kerry finals in 2005 and 2008. Armagh Kerry for a tense finish was great viewing too.

Kerry against anyone else of late has been a kite walk for them.

2003 was tight enough but I never thought at any stage of that match Armagh would win so for me wasn't a classuc.

Galway - Kerry draw 2001 was probably a good one too.

Is it not a 'cake-walk'  ???
