Sorry, I'm a bit lost on this. Why are people saying it's bad timing?

Do the teachers now expect the world to revolve around their working terms? If they want to get together and discuss it, then let them do it in their own time or wait until their next coffee break in September and do it. Meanwhile the rest of us will get on with our work.

This is what I was thinking when I read the article.  I dont understand what the complaint is?

as for the second article:
QuoteI believe are to herd the Protestant people west of the Bann into little enclaves where they can more easily be finally driven into County Antrim.
:D no comment needed.
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

Another little gem from Ireland's top tennis-playing educationalist (courtesy of Newton Emerson in that well-known Unionist rag, The Irish News):

"Caitriona Ruane has claimed 95 per cent public support for her education policies, repeating the figure four times in the assembly, based on a consultation exercise Sinn Fein is known to have influenced. Party members were emailed with form letters to send into the department and excerpts from these letters appeared in the final report. Even Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is only claiming 63 per cent. Still, Saddam Hussein used to claim 100 per cent. Ms Ruane knows to draw the line somewhere"

Not really - someone had posted the Ruane piece on another website and I simply "cut and pasted".

Try again.

P.S. Any thoughts on Ruane's "95% Approval Rating", by any chance?

Probably from wanting to get rid of the 11+. However she has nothing in place yet, so I don't know about 95%.

What about Jeffrey Donaldson's £555 on hotel PoV movies, eh EG ;)

Aye right. If Ruane's approval rating for the transfer process etc in NI is 95%, then my approval rating on this board must be at least 90%... :D

In one sense it's funny - and that's before we ever find out the Titles of the films he watched!  :D

In another sense, however, it's anything but funny to see the way our elected representative are milking the system of our taxes, for all they're (not) worth. And the fact that the Dupes, a party which always emphasised its (Christian-based) moral rectitude, appear to be (at least) as bad as everyone else is merely proof of their overwhelming hypocrisy.

For a variety of reasons, I have absolutely no time for Jim Allister and the TUV, who would doubtless prove just as porcine if they ever managed to push their way to the trough. But if this Expenses scandal were to go on hurting the DUP, to the extent that they lost seats to the TUV, I would find it richly ironic. In fact, you might even call it "payback"!  ;)
