I know Red Cards are a recent introduction but I think you will know what I mean.  The question is, who holds the All Ireland record for the most sending offs in a single game?

I though I held the record with an an U16 team I managed about 13 years ago, a good bunch of lads really but they lost the plot when receiving a good old fashioned lesson by a much better Kilcoo team.  Locally, they gained almost hero status and became know as the Kilcoo-Five.

However, reading today's papers the Kilcoo-Five have been put into dim shade by the St Enda's-Seven that were sent off last weekend in Omagh.

Wonder if anyone out there can report a higher number. Perhaps we can come up with a County by County record list?

Still reckon the Kilcoo-Five will take the Co Down record.

Can you fill me in on that one? What's the story? Were they all from the same team - St Endas?

Tyrone league final brawl will be 'dealt with severely'

Monday November 02 2009

Two of Tyrone's most famous clubs are at the centre of a disciplinary probe after the county's Division 1 league final was marred by violence.

Carrickmore and Errigal Chiarain finished level after extra-time on Friday night and are due to meet again in next weekend's replay. Players from both sides were involved in a mass brawl immediately after the end of normal time at Healy Park.

Seven players were sent off, four of whom will miss the rematch after receiving straight red cards.

It's the second time in less than a fortnight that the county's disciplinary chiefs have been forced to launch an investigation into incidents at high profile games.

The senior championship final between Ardboe and Dromore also ended in controversy two weeks ago, with an alleged assault on referee Sean Quinn by a supporter.

Competitions Control Committee chairman Ciaran McLaughlin promised that the clubs involved in the latest incident will be severely dealt with.

"That one was a severe incident. We will deal with it, and we will deal with it severely," he said.

"It's certainly something which we're not at all happy about. From my perspective in organising the fixtures, we want to have a showpiece. Our league final is meant to be a showpiece of our games, and this incident certainly has marred that."

McLaughlin added that no time will be lost in carrying out an investigation into the incident, which unfolded in front of a crowd of around 3,000 at Healy Park.

"From a disciplinary point of view, what we'll do is what we always have done.

"You have to deal with incidents which are severe and deal with them quickly, and be seen to deal with them quickly, to ensure that the clubs understand that you are going to stamp out those incidents which occur."

Charlie Redmond. He was sent off twice in the AI final in 95.

there was a man who played for our club a few years ago, he had big reputation for being a hard man he also was a handy enough footballer. but he managed to get sent of twice in two different games in one day. He was playing some sort of match in england in the morning, he got sent of any way , then he got the plane back over to play in a club championship game for omagh, he then got sent off in that game. id say that is some sort of record :D

Both championship matches, not finals. Rumour is that he wanted to be taken off in the London game so he could catch the flight for the Ardboe game. The manager wouldn't take him off, so he decked an opponent in front of the referee. Duly sent off, he skipped the early bath to get the flight home.

That would be the jist of it alright Sam, although he also asked the ref to send him off and when told there was no reason to do so promptly gave him a reason. The problem arose because the london game started over an hour late.
