Our club have increased membership prices this year to include the following;

£50 Senior player (£30 for insurance apparently)
£40 Student Senior player
Non Playing Full Membership £30
Couples £50
Juvenile £10.00 per child (Max £20.00 if 2 or more children)
3rd Level Student £10.00
Spouse of Life Member £20.00
Social £10.00
Senior Citizen £1.00

Also run a 'friends of rostrevor' scheme which is £300 for the year for family membership with a few 'freebies' or £25 each month for the same.

A playing membership is still £60 in our club.
A juvenile pays £5
A non playing full membership is £25 I think

That includes insurance and free hurls for all the teams

We also run a monthly 'club Ballygalget' £5/£10 subscription which does into development. 10% of the takings are put back into a monthly draw for all subscribers.

I will add to this post and ask what do you get for this membership? Apart from the obvious of being a registered member and the perks for players, what does a ordinary member get for their money? Some of them prices seem wild steep to me in the current climate. I think around £25 is fair enough
I never forget a face but in your case I will make an exception.

Do you really expect to get a return for your money?  As an amateur association the money has to come from somewhere.  I don't buy that you have to get a hard return - it's not a personal investment, it's a privilige.

There might some ideas on how to sell/promot/collect membership for some registrars in here!

Even at the low cost, our membership is still not what it should be and has been particularly disappointing from adult players of late! Players should at a minimum pay the cost of the affiliation and if they don't pay then they don't play!

As I understand it, Vincents in Dublin is about €150 for a playing member and they enforce the don't pay don't play (so I was advised by and ex Vinnie, open to correction on this one)

Rois your are missing the point i am making. I couldn't care less what i get for my membership as it is my club and i will contribute to everything that is run in it. The point i am making is with such a fluctuation in clubs around the country are the clubs with the higher memberships offering anything extra to justify the difference ? simple as that  :)

our membership, senior players and non players is £120 for the year!!!

Has went up from £5 a month to £10 a month. Success and running hurling, football, ladies, and all our juvenile teams has meant that the money needs to be brought in.
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea
