Camcorder

Hello everyone just looking some advice on buying a camcorder and what ones are the best to go for.

I have heard people saying dvd camcorders are the way to go but I am not so sure

Can I get 1 that I can transfer onto laptop and then put them onto a dvd.

I do have a video on my samsung camera but it is very basic. Problem I hate about it is when zooming in and out it doesnt pick up the sound very well.

Any advice welcome?

I bought a small camcorder called "the flip" on amazon - it cost me 70 dollars (on sale).
30 mins of video, camcorder is as small as a mobile phone, quality is fine and very convenient - if you dont plan on taking hours at a time this is a very inexpensive option - plugs directly into eh computer via usb and takes batteries.

So there are no members on here who have any knowledge or experience of a camcorder to offer myself some advice?

we bought a JVC which had the small dvd discs, they are very handy just finalise the disc and you can play them on your DVD player, you can burn copies using your pc, the thing is we bought it mainly for videoing the first baby, shortly afterwards I got a nokia n95 and its way handier and does the a similar job, if the baby is about to take its first step the phone is always ready whereas the camcorder takes a while to get set up. We are on the second baby at the moment and its the phone that gets the use!
