Strictly speaking, the Rugby Union has been awarded the 2015 Rugby Union World Cup, with matches to be staged in England and Wales (Millennium):

(2019 will be in Japan, btw)

It was also announced today that the 2013 Rugby League World Cup has been awarded to the (English) Rugby Football League, with matches to be staged in England, Scotland and Wales:

With the 2012 Olympics in London and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the facilities and arenas etc which will flow from these will surely mean that other major sports and athletics Championships will follow.

Therefore if the Football Association were also to get the 2018 Football World Cup, it would round off a hell of a decade of sport in Britain.

Couldnt give a shite about the rest of them but would be great if England got the soccer world cup, would definitely try and get to a few games and would be massive help for Ireland if they actually managed to qualify.
