I guess I have the shuffle function on the ipod to thank, CD's that were gathering dust on the shelves for years are now getting a song out in the shuffle.

As for rediscovering - the band in question is Pulp, would have found them 'ok' when they were in their pomp (obviously ok enough to buy their CD in the first place I suppose), but think it rarely got a play.  I've been listening to them flat out lately and it's great stuff.  Rediscovered another wee gem in Appetite for Destruction by GNR, fine album

Groucho

Have you still got your Rock Stewart albums? :D
I like to see the fairways more narrow, then everyone would have to play from the rough, not just me

Saw Rock many's a night in the Arena and he was shite, always wondered what the fuss was about, getting out of a coffin on stage shouldn't be enough to make a career outa.

Electric Picnic, Sunday Night, Headliners.

Would have Different Class lying about the house somewhere. Some good tunes on it, Something Changed is a great tune. Whole album smacks a bit of stalking though.

Saw them on BBC4 a few weeks ago headling Glastonbury must have been 1996/1997. Hard to believe how big they were for a time.

Don't think they could believe it themselves.

I didn't realise they were still on the go until I had a quick look at their wiki page a while back.  Last time I read something about JC he seemed to be heading up his own hole.

Do you remember the first time you heard them?

bennydorano

Do, I was in an old people's home at the time, helping the aged  :)

westmayo

We're they raised on a diet of broken biscuits ? ;)

I liked them at the time and have some of their stuff lying about. Appetite for Destruction gets a regular blast on the iPhone too! The tunes are pushing 25 years old - timeless.

Use Your Illusion also. Some great songs on both albums.

Might be a bit controversial but I'm gonna say it. G'N'Roses were a better band than ACDC. Everyone loves ACDC this last few years but when I was at school only people whose hair covered their face liked them.

On the subject of old albums listened to Automatic for the People recently for the 1st time in over 10 years. Still brilliant.

Preferred Use Your Illusion II to I as Civil War and You Could Be Mine were on the Terminator 2 soundtrack. Used to put both on flat out when playing pool in the local pub. Not really a fan of November Rain from first album.
