Ladies/Gents my niece is after a laptop for general home work and the usual stuff a 17 year old gets up to (Bebo/myspace etc) and she asked me to check on ebay but what happens if something goes wrong with it and will she have a warranty with it...

P.S. a spec for the laptop would be great to you IT guys on the board...and something not to pricey as she paid dear for her last one and its scrap now as she never looks after anything...

By the sounds of it it will hardly matter is she has a warranty illdecide..........it will be scrap if she leaves it lying at her arse all the time

Go to Dell.ie. Select business section (not home user), have a look at the Vostro laptops. They have no software on them (if you have a buddy or two you'll get all the software you need of them). They have a spec decent enough for the usual auld mucking around that kids do. Price is €415 inc VAT and delivery. I don't think you'll beat that anywhere. I've already bought two for some colleuges at work and they are happy.

click buy and we have a winner.

Thats more expensive than Dell, but with a slightly better spec. I've also found acer to be shoddy build though.

Has anybody ever sold flights on ebay? My wee sister's decided to go to America a month early and couldn't get her original flight changed so is out the money. Its from Dublin to Philedephia. Could only see 1 flight on ebay and it had nearly no bids? Has anyone ever sold a flight on ebay before and what are the chances of getting a decent price for it?

If the warranty is in existance it is transferable to the new owner. I think that's the law regadless fo buying on ebay or not. They can email the owner before buying and ask when the warranty is up, the owner ofcourse will have to send the warranty cert. ( no use to him anyway without the laptop) which will have the neccessary details. She can check ebay's Q & A's or even email their query dept. But as I said I'm 99% sure the warranty is transferable to the new owner as I worked in Customer Service for PC world for a while.
