Christianity was certainly a part of our culture. So was superstition, occupation by a foreign power and poverty. Famine was part of our culture along with frequent rebellion. Infighting was a huge part of our culture along with poetry, literature and many dialects of our own language.

Nothing lasts for ever. Some of the above has thankfully left us, more is on the way out sadly, while the Church is seeing probably the most rapid decline of the above list in the last 20 years.

I might put this another way.

Which should the Government prioritise, due to our cultural decline:

* subsidising the Irish Language
or
* subsidising the Catholic Church to remain in most of our schools?

Like I said earlier, I was educated in Catholics Schools and have no ideological objection to it whatsoever. However I just think it should meet the demand. Those who want it should, wherever possible have it, the rest can have secular schools as they desire.

Just looked at their website and they also offer Irish dancing lessons after school and even offer Irish lessons for adults at night.

Given the choice, I'd pick the school that beat religious dogma into them.

My humble apologies. I'd thought you had more gumsome and intellect to decipher for yourself. Sorry again

Don't apologise. It's my fault for never taking a course in gibberish.

You obviously didn't take the course because you wrote and delivered it. You're just being pedantic now.
