Louth Exile

No, I know you were just referring to his character, which I would concur with.

What the coverage did not show is that the referee waved for play to move on, as soon as a Louth attack developed in the opposite corner, the player in question leapt to his feet and tore back into the action without a bit of bother!!

Thats just not true, the ref stopped the game and went and asked the Umpires had they seen what happened as most of Parnell Park could hear a scream from Timmons,I certainly did anyway and I was sitting around the centre line not far from the Louth dugout.
The Umpires hadn't seen the incident which Im not surprised at as the ball was well out of play and they would have been signaling a wide at the time rather than looking over towards the corner.
Timmons also got medical attention for a few mins after the incident
You'll Never Walk Alone.

In fairness it wouldnt have taken much for him to avoid the lad on the ground.

tyronefan

he generally doesn't need to see the ones involving tyrone

This has nothing to do with Tyrone.....The world does not revolve around Tyrone or Tyrone football so would you give it a rest

You are right he did receive treatment, Clarke also tried to haul him from the ground. The ref did however instruction the Laois goalie to kick the ball out, once it developed into a Louth attack down the far side of the field he was back on his feet and in the action in no time.

Now will someone tell me when was the last time Clancy scored 1-3 in a game  :D

That is far from stamping, he basically trod a gentle boot on Timmons back. To make any more of this incident is absolutely unnecessary and is post match scrutiny gone mad. If Timmons required treatment for a few minutes after this he should consider badminton or some other non-contact sport. Tommy Lyons is a waffling bluffer. Goodnight.

He didn't stamp on him from that sequence anyway and he placed no weight at all on our man, he ran across him the way you would run across muck or cowshit in a field in a pair of new shoes !!  Only problem is the studs can cause a twinge to the player on the ground but if every tackle was to be analysed like this you would probable find that a lot of players come closer to getting their necks broken in normal tackles that are not even penalized - I think.
