While it is a national past-time to hammer the GAA for their love of money and ticket prices etc. Get a load of the IRFU... Ireland V France in Croke Park for stand ticket £88 for Dublin V Tyrone plus 125 year entertainment £20... £5 for juveniles...well done.  That rugby price is obscene.

The IRFU have to cover the rent and the players wages some how  ;)

€90 for my England ticket. It's bananas really in this day and age, but sure I suppose supply and demand.

I agree while the price is too high. The IRFU has to cover the cost of provincial players and the grass roots. While its dear I feel the money is going to the right places within the IRFU.
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

i would say the gaa employs more fullt time coaches than the irfu does. could be wrong though
the difference between success and failure is energy

€70 for tickets for Ireland soccer matches....bit steep but at least the GAA is getting their rent from the stadium.

Knowing the FAI, they will probably keep the prices that high when moving back to Lansdowne Rd (or the Aviva :D) staduim.

The IRFU has to pay for the upkeep of four professional rugby teams though and all the staff in each province. Travel costs, etc. It adds up.

Tickets are certainly on the steep side though alright.

Would doubt that.. Think the IRFU filter their coaches better through provinces, clubs and schools!

Crazy Crazy prices for tickets in the current climate, guaranteed to be sold out though.

Interestingly, what are the prices going to be for the NFL games this year?  Will the GAA listen to Micky Harte?  Somehow I doubt it!

Yes 70 euros for the Ireland games with Georgia and Bulgaria (worked out at £65 each), up from 45 for the best seats at the Old Lansdowne, so GAA rental income is the cause of inflation. How this money will be missed when the rugb and soccer teams move back to Lansdowne

By the way, I think the FAI is experiencing serious problems shifting tickets for the Georgia game.  I have received two correspondences in recent weeks reminding all blockbookers that failure to take your Georgia ticket will mean that you won't get a ticket for the Italy game, then a personal request from the Trap and his evaluation of the importance of the 12th man ::)
