Should the All star exhibition game be scrapped?

Apologies if this subject has already its own thread. I,m all for the all star trip, but just dont see the point in playing these pathetic matches they portray as exhibitions. I now live in San diego california, and had the "pleasure " of attending the game there, when they visited in 2003. It was a complete Joke,lots of the guys coming back "loaded" ( fair play to them

) the morning of the "game" from Tiijuana , Mexico. Goalkeepers playing outfield etc. Why not just have the trip and scrap the "game"? For annybody actually watching one of them, it makes a mockery of the game...discuss

A lot of money could be saved which could later be pumped into firework displays before National League matches.

Well sure what can really be done? For Ex pats around the globe its a great chance to get to see some "live" action. It is very much a damp squib however.
This years game in San Fran was so bad that there was a mass exodus at half time.

Maybe they should export a competitive game once a year - to give people a real taste of what Gaelic Games are all about. The exhibition with zero intensity is definitely not doing much for the sport.

I'd like to scrap the all stars so it follows the exhibition game should go too

Why not play it in Croke Park in November under lights, have a fireworks display as well if you want ? Have the 2008 All Stars play the 2009 All Stars or have a GAA team v a GPA team, with Dessie and Jarlath as referees.

wht would an NFL game be played abroad? think if the clubhouse tho Puckoon, think of the club houses!!!!
