I don't see anything wrong with having a punt on yourself to win, AFAIK QUB always backed themselves at the start of the year to win the sigerson...its when you start backing against yourself that it could go wrong, judgement gets clouded etc

I can only assume the home team would also be fielding a weakened side on this basis, so where everyone in the bookies earlier has got the 'scandal' from god only knows.

Seems to be what happened with both LoI 'scandals'. One bookie got cleaned twice in quick succession for laying awful odds versus their competetors at the tale end of the season.
