The whole thing seems to have blown over so he's over the moon about that.

He'll not be bothering anyone here for a while. Apparently, in a competition on a sister site, he won a book written and signed by some boy called Dougie Beattie. All he had to do was email an interesting question and Dougie decided on the best question.

His question was, allegedly, "Dougie, when you were stationed over here, why did you not take more of them uppity Fenians out when you had the chance?"

The only other entrants were wee Marty ("Can I have a signed copy of your book, please Doug?") and Tony Fearon (question unrecorded, but it was a competition).
