4 played senior by my count:
7. Conor Moran (Burrishoole)
8. James Gill (Westport)
11. BJ Padden (Belmullet)
14. Alan Dillon (Ballintubber)

Gavin Duffy is now a professional rugby player as already stated, and James Gill also played for Ireland at underage as far as I know.
Gary Dillon (Alan's brother) is captain of Ballintubber team this year who are in the senior championshiop quarter finals.
Was Robert Moran on the senior panel for a while or am I mixing him up with someone else?

5 actually
3.   Pat Kelly (Kilmaine)

There is a mistake in the orignal post its Pat not Paraic Kelly (Kilmaine). He was captain of the minor team in 1999.

ONeill

Didn't that Down team have a crap record at U21? I thought they were the bees' knees in 1999.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Thanks for that. Now have you any idea what Ballyholland is in Irish and what their crest looks like. Rony Murtagh gets a favourable touch from thewobbler as well.

There is a dispute at the minute about the Irish for "Ballyholland". The Irish language officer for Newry and Mourne District Council is a guy called Gerald McGivern...a good friend of mine..he's an ex Ballyholland player and a brother of ex County player Terry...who is running our senior team at the minute with Glen Elmore and Sean O'Hare (Sho) and the Wobbler ...who you all know. Gerry has done a serious amount of work on townland names around the district and has bent my ear a few times about the Irish version of Ballyholland. He insists that the townland of Ballyholland is Baile Ui Thualain...(sorry cant do fadas on this yoke) i nGaeilge. I still insist it is Baile Cholmain....you can see our crest here on our website...www.ballyholland.org

The crest depicts the rocky terrain of the district, the mass rock and the reeds of the bog along with our Harp of course.

Thanks to Wobbler for pointing out that the number of Down minors from 1999 who went on to play senior county football is an astonishing 12. Brendan Kearney did not feature against Antrim in the 2000 disaster, but he definitely turned out in the league at some stage. Mark Doran played twice in the 2006 SFC as a sub, against Cavan and Donegal, but unusually we did not face Tyrone that summer. Doran is a fine footballer, but like many of the 1999 squad, he is probably too small for senior football.

Mayo

1.   John O'Hara (Moy Davitts) - As mentioned earlier, he went down the professional soccer route with a US scholarship and a few seasons back with Sligo Rovers. Is in the US now and not playing any GAA.
2.   MJ Meeneghan (Tourmakeedy) - Tourmak would be a small intermediate club. Not sure if he is still playing. Doesnt come up on the radar in club football in Mayo anymore.
3.   Paraic Kelly (Kilmaine) - Pat Kelly that should be. Played in the 2004 final and for a good few years for Mayo. Won an All-Irelnad club medal with St Vincents this year at wing back. Back on the Mayo panel this year but didnt feature much.
4.   John Brogan (Knockmore) - Playing well for his club at full-back. Was named on the Mayo club stars team of the year in 2007. Played a few games in the FBD league this year but is deemed by many to be too small for intercounty.
5.   Rory Keane (Ballinrobe) - Still playing senior with Ballinrobe. Didnt get a run with Mayo.
6.   Paul Coady (Burrishoole) - Not sure. Went off the radar very fast after this.
7.   Conor Moran (Burrishoole) - Played in 2004 senior final at corner back and has been in and out of the panel for years.
8.   James Gill (Westport) - In and out of the senior team for the past number of years.
9.   Gavin Duffy (Ballina) - Played professional rugby with Harlequins in London and won a few Irish senior internationals on the wing. Now back playing with Connacht and is still close to the Irish squad.
10.   Robert Moran (Moy Davitts) - Went to New York very young and plays for New York in the Connacht championship each year.
11.   BJ Padden (Belmullet) - Has been on the Mayo senior panel for years.
12.   Barry Loftus (Crossmolina) - Not sure, but doesnt star for the Crossmolina senior team...
13.   Gary Dillon (Ballintubber) - Still playing for Ballintubber in senior championship.
14.   Alan Dillon (Ballintubber) - Regular for Mayo seniors.
15.   Eoin Gallagher (Charlestown) - Still playing senior with club. Got runs for Mayo in the FBD but never made the cut..

If anyone knows the storys of the following, please update...
2.   MJ Meeneghan (Tourmakeedy)
6.   Paul Coady (Burrishoole)
12.   Barry Loftus (Crossmolina)

Pretty sure Robert Moran was in the senior squad in 2003. Played FBD, maybe a couple of league games but I'm open to correction on that.

Michael James Meenaghan is still playing away with Tourmakeady. A good, tight marking club corner-back or wing-back. Has a great nickname - Pebble - because his father is known as the Rock!

Paul Coady - a player who had serious potential. Played for a couple of years afterwards with Burrishoole but then concentrated on the  rugby with Castlebar, which he is very good at in fairness, played a fair bit for the Connacht Juniors. I think I might have seen his name down for playing back with Burrishoole again this year. Was two days too old for being minor the following year too iirc

Barry Loftus - Gone from the face of the football earth. Very similar style of play to his cousin PJ. Not even sure if he was playing football by the time he got to his last year Under 21.

Out of that team the only player who was lost to county football that had the ability to make it was Gavin Duffy. He'd be a serious midfielder now or wing-forward. I'll correct myself, John O'Hara is a top class goalkeeper too but that isn't a major issue as Clarke is class as well.

Mayo for Sam! Just don't ask me for a year

Barry played with the intermediates this year i think he may have played 1 or 2 senior club games

Mourne Rover - Kearney definitely played Championship football one season. Must have been the next year against Cavan. Those two horrible days at Casement often roll into one in my memory.
