Meant to mention this last night after watching this- and forgot to check if it has been mentioned before, but it was the chat of the staffroom today with people for and against the concept of the programme.
Basically- ten children aged between 8 and 11 are living without adults for 2 weeks.  In last night's episode the both houses got £500 to spend on food/entertainment for three days and they first had to navigate their way to the shop. I thought it made interesting, if a little unnerving viewing.

braindead? mindnumbing?

what passes as entertainment today is unreal.

Puckoon

So basically big brother for kids?

maggie

well i guess each to their own then.
Thought it was interesting to see what the girls deemed to be entertainment- buying fake 'fags' and going to the amusement arcades, a complete contrast with the boys.

It'll probably be like those 'teen' films which have Michael J. Fox or Ralph Machio acting as kids. They're all in their 40s Maggie.

Who lets their kids onto something like this? Sick stuff

Rav67

Personally never watch drivel like this.  Can't believe parents would put their kids forward for such a "social experiment"

pintsofguinness

I think they had something like this on before?
Can you see the parents reaction to what's going on? It'll be fun to watch when the parents realise their child is actually a little bastard.
Which one of you bitches wants to dance?

This is happening all over the place, without the cameras.

ziggysego

yeah, while I havent watched the program, I cant imagine it being good for the kids. Whoever comes up with these programs needs their heads examined. What did they spend the £500 on? Jelly Babies and colouring books?
