Robinho to City. Done deal.  :o

Its a bit like when Tevez and Mash signed for West Ham,Though i think City are going places in the future unlike West Ham did/were
You'll Never Walk Alone.

and eventually the Berbatov deal goes through for £30.75 mil and Frazier Campbell to spurs on loan for the rest of the season, good deal for both clubs imo, although Spurs can't buy anyone now..

Looking forward to seeing Robinho and SWP on the wings at City even though I am a Newcastle fan ???

I reckon there are still a few more deals in the pipeline... possibly Michael Owen going somewhere. Robinho and Berbatov are 2 big signings though. City are shaping up to be some side!

Comment by a Liverpool fan at work when he heard about the Dubai Group buying City & Robinho

"How come we get the sh*t Billionaire investors?"  :D

Shrewdness

Was great viewing last night, didn't get to bed til 1am.

In all the confusion and drama last night, i hope Robinho doesn't think that he has just joined Manchester United. I'm sure when he heard the word Manchester, the word City was drowned out by thoughts of Ronaldo etc.

Instead of being greeted by Ronaldo, Berbatov, Rooney etc, imagine the look on his face when he walks into Eastlands to be greeted instead by Richard Dunne and Didi Hamann ;D

This city takeover could be seriously bad news for Liverpool and Arsenal over the next 2 or 3 years. I don't think they have the players to threaten for 3rd or 4th this year, but if the Abu Dhabi United (Irony) are serious about the money they are talking about, then there's another Chelsea in the making.

Minder

Its no bad thing, it will hopefully shake things up a bit and show the top 4 they wont have things their own way forever.
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"

They reckon this guy has 10 times more money than Roman

On Talk Sport this morning they were talking to some guy who is very close to Mr Abu Dhabi or whatever the fcuk his name is (think it is Dr. something).
The City buyer couldnt believe that Roman had 'only' spent £500 million & reached the top of the PL
The guy had been trying to get him to buy Arsenal but it was too complicated with too many people involved.

He will be releasing a wishlist of the players he hopes to get 1. Ronaldo (is willing to pay up to £120 million for him) 2.Torres & 3.Fabregas

Dont get too carried away with the berties just yet. Nothing has been signed. All they currently have is a memorandum of understanding- a document describing a bilateral or multilateral agreement between parties. It expresses a convergence of will between the parties, indicating an intended common line of action. It most often is used in cases where parties either do not imply a legal commitment or in situations where the parties cannot create a legally enforcement agreement. It is a more formal alternative to a gentlemen's agreement.

Price will be a huge consideration in this, esp as city dont own their own ground AND the previous earnings/borrowings have been securitised on future ticket sales. The deal was that the arabs would lend city the money for players , as they expected a deal to go through, but if it doesnt city pay the money back. Small prob with that is city wouldnt be able to do this! Hughes could only spalsh the cash yesterday as the initial due dilligence was seen to be at a satisfactory enough level to take the risk. Hughes will be under severe pressure from now on in too, with a top 4 place this season being mooted. Pointless having all the cash when your not allowed to spend it.

It prob wont go wrong, but then again this is city, and they have form....

What will be interesting is the next Arab target, these guys are legendarily competitive, esp between the kingdoms, Id expect DIC to be back on the radar somewhere in the near future.

If it does go through, Citeh have gotten out of jail with that Shinawatra chancer.

Maybe DIC will come in and buy Liverpool now? To be All-Arab champions like?.

Shrewdness

News emerging that Ajax received last ditch bids by phone last night for Huntelaar from 2 different clubs, each of 40 million euros.

Any chance that Chelsea was one of them. Imagine Kenyon sweating on the the phone at 23.58 hrs saying, ''come on ye bastards, answer it ;D

Rossie11

We badly need that to happen and quickly AZ.
City are now chasing ourselves or the Gunners CL spot.
Who knows who the Arabs will have at Eastlands in January.

From the first few games I cant see Pool being any closer to the title this year and more than likely the likes of city and villa will be closer to us than we are to the top. We need the yanks and Rafa out and the likes of Rijkaard in with some real hard cash.

Id say malcom is watching the situation closly in between feeds.

Steve claridge had the following to say on the subject

"It doesn`t matter how much money you have, the likes of Chelsea and now Manchester City will never have what United and Liverpool have, and have had.If United or City were to come in for you as a player, where would you still want to go and play your football, enough said i think"

Chelsea have the benefit of the bright lights of London, for all the progress in manc, city dont have the same pull.. It will be interesting to see how many top players they attract, esp with the recent rumblings of salary caps being linked to commercial income etc. Theres no guarentee that city can do a chelsea nevermind surpass it.
Robinho would have joined anyone last night methinks..

Tell that to Mr Robben!
