towards the end of a match or end of a hard training session i get a recurring strain on the right side of my groin. i cant afford to take a break from playing, can anyone suggest how i can solve this problem?

Spend at least 10 minutes streching your groin before training or a match (the more warmed up the better).

Apart from that, you should really rest it.

thanks rory. any particular stretches more effective than others? i would usually sit on the ground , have the soles of my feet against each other and press down on my knees?

Thats static stretches its all about dynamic strethes these days apparently better for you
Keeps 'er' straight

DO NOT STRETCH IT. slowly build up and gradually increase the movement/intensity.
