Hats off to whoever in Croke Park for solving all the problems with the Croke Park surface. Remember when the GAA were ridiculed when players were falling all over the place.

Last Saturday when the place was under a monsoon, the pitch held up nicely and took 3 more games the following day.

So credit where credit is due !

Davitt Man

remember in the euros when they had a monsoon during one of the games, the match nearly had to be called off due to the surface water, fair play to the groundstaff in HQ

Yep, fair dues to the management team.
There's more on the efforts of the Croker staff below.

The second article mentions how the lower levels of Croker were flooded on Saturday night by floodwater from Jones Road - McKenna's none too happy with the fact that the public drains didn't appear to be in order.

. The sewers lifted up and there was a lot of detritus inside the stadium.

Shite for want of another term !

Was thinking this myself, absolute credit to the GAA how the picth held up after all the bad weather at the weekend.  When you turned over to see Man Utd vs Portsmouth at Wembly, you realised just how good the surface at Croker is compared to the patchy, cut up disgrace that was Wembly pitch.
Beer, now there's a temporary solution!!!

As I say, the GAA must be complimented on this one - they take a lot of stick at times, but HQ is a credit to them !

Apparently the water levels reached those 'doors' at the entrance of the Árd Comhairle from the pitch end. Fair play to making the pitch actually playable, let alone that well.

Credit indeed to the Croke Park groundstaff. Maybe Dublin City Council could avail of their expertise in preventing the rest of the city flooding over the next time there's a shower or two.

I know the Armagh supporters and team were hanging around for one last look at Croker on Saturday evening but there is no need to be calling them those names.

Full credit to HQ for the pitch. We certainly give them a lot of stick for when things go wrong, but they've definately got this right.

I was amazed that the games went ahead the following day and the pitch coped brilliantly with it.

I have always said that the people responsible for the planning, building, maintenance and marketing of Croker should be running the country. They have displayed remarkable vision, and the ability to manage major projects and bring them too fruition within time and budget

As metioned by me a few weeks ago, the Sunday game pundits have complimented the state of the pitch - I do believe the Sunday game pundits read this board !!!!!!  ;) :D :D
