The tom tom xl is great. once you do the free map update it is spot on. even has loads of the new housing developments around dublin fully mapped.

Aye I've the Garmin Nuvi meself. No complaints though to be honest it does my head in by times. If you've a decent idea of where you're heading its hard to bate the signposts and a bit of common sense.

I'll friggin re-calculate it some day. Been travelling from my house to Newry since before I can remember, I know the way by now. And it sending me to Newtownhamilton. When I'm stuck in the narrow streets facing a lorry and with an Ulsterbus between me and 2 rows of parked car on each side the frigging Sat Nav won't manovuer my beloved Yaris to safety.

Yes mine sends me the coast road from my house to Clough, I normally go in through Downpatrick and all because they are better roads, I take it it picks the 'shortest' route??!  But it is good, do you not think?
