Those advocating controls on immigration from other EU countries will need to be ready to explain why Irish people will have to provide evidence of employment to the authorities in countries on the continent as they bring in reciprocal arrangements. Given the manner in which Irish people seem to think nothing of heading off to the US and vanishing into their black economy, and the fact that this is considered acceptable right up to the top of Irish society, we could expect very tight controls on our movements within the EU

There is no need for controls on immigration from the EU, the accession of 10 countries at a time when the Irish economy was booming was a unique situation. There will not be large numbers of people moving to Ireland in the future, unless the Turks join.

The support for illegal immigrants in the US is a disgrace.
