Agree Bogball, it took the Vins keeper 30 secs to kick the ball out after Masters last score and there was no added time for that,in fairness Masters should have known it was the last kick of the game and tried to work it in.
"When it's too tough for them, it's just right for us"

I wouldn't have said so TYP. Cross were reasonably well beaten on the day.

Nemo left themselves too much to do after the first half. Had Kerrigan put that goal chance away it could have been a different story.

Connolly was very very good(Mossy too) - I'd expect to be seeing him in a Dublin jersey at some stage this year. The guy who came on for Nemo (O'Brien) did a lot to swing the game for Nemo too. Nemo dominated midfield completely for 15/20 minutes in the second half. Masters class left foot but tries to get onto it too much - too predictable.

Two good teams.

GalwayBayBoy

Well done to Vincents's although I'd say Nemo won't be too happy with the ref. He may as well have togged out in a Vincent's kit.

Canalman

Well done to St Vincents on a hard won victory. Nemo imo did not do their homework on McQuillan as a ref ( he ALWAYS imo favours the player in possession) and he was exactly the same today. The last 2 frees for Vins were definite frees , one  a boot in on attempt to pick up the ball and the other a blatant foot block.

A cracking 2nd half.

Felt motm was wrongly given to Diarmuid (not "Dermot") Connolly and should have gone to Tomás Quinn or the Nemo full back Kavanagh.

A fillip for Dublin football.

On RTE radio Michael O Muircheartaigh kept calling him Diarmuid, then saying sorry Dermot that should be, which is it?
I'm glad to see some refs calling for the fouls when a player is going down for a pick-up.
Hate watching games and the brave player going down for the ball gets a nudge with the knee or a boot and is left on his hole with no free. Same goes for the high catch, players playing the game as it should need to be protected and especially those skills need to be protected and encouraged.

listened to michael o muircheartaig on rte 1 and the game sounded alive, then saw some of it on tg4 and it sounded dead. with the gaa new sponsorship deal with rte they should insist on a certain standard of coverage and i'm not just talking about the commentators (or language for that matter). on rte 1 it sounded like the crowd (there was 31k there after all) were going to jump down the radio at you while on telly you couldnt hear the crowd. sky sports always bring the crowd noise in why cant tg4?

A bit of sickener for Cross, they should have beated St Vincents but allowed them to get those early goals which decided the semi.  An AI lost by Cross.

A classic case of "If they hadn't lost to the team that beat them they would have won the whole thing."
If you were any use you'd be playing.

That's my one gripe with TG4 coverage, there never appears to be any atmosphere from the crowd, whatever they are doing wrong, and it's always been that way. RTE are much better in that regard.

The ref consistently gave softish frees to the player in possession. Worked equally for both sides, so Nemo couldnt complain. The one minute of injury time was very strange - but Masters knew that before blasting the last one over.

I would have given Mossy Quinn man of the match. Super performance, and got the most important score of the game, just when it looked like all the momentum was with Nemo.

But over the 60 minutes, the best team won.

Delighted in particular for Mickey Whelan. Proved a lot of people wrong, in particular certain senior Dublin players from the 95/96 team...

Very enjoyable day in Croker yesterday and congrats to Vins on winning though they did their best to throw it away. Mossy was excellent and got a couple of vital scores in the second half when they were badly needed. Connolly showed some nice touches and finished his goal well but still very naive and a bit off the required standard for a starting spot with the Dubs in my opinion. Ditto Brennan as a starting CHB.

Couldn't believe the one minutes extra time myself and we were right behind the Nemo bench who went ballistic when it went up. Masters has a sweet left foot but is so one sided its unreal and Kavanagh played well for them as well but Gilroy really was "easy" to mark.

Good to see a Dub lifting an All-Ireland trophy in Croker :)

Dream on -comphehensively beaten on the day nemo were far superior to Cross. Delighted obviously never thought i 'd see the day again. Thought we'd blown it to be honest- had masters stuck the free in the 49th minute Nemo would have won i think. As usual we were too reluctant to introduce fresh legs when needed and it almost cost us the game. Ref was very poor overall and probably gave us the few key decisions that were the difference. Nemo should have started the likes of Niblock the difference they made to them was incredible.
