QuoteA man from Derry man has become a millionaire after winning a share of the EuroMillions lottery.

The man, whose name has not yet been revealed, is believed to have scooped more than £6m in Friday's draw.

A total of six tickets in the UK shared the record £95m rollover jackpot, with 10 winners in other European countries.

Because no-one managed to match all the five main numbers plus the two lucky star numbers, the £95m will be shared among the next level of winners.

Camelot said some seven to 10 million tickets were bought in Britain.

The winning numbers were 17, 28, 30, 38 and 44, while the Lucky Star numbers were 01 and 04.

A spokeswoman for Camelot said it had been a "busy day both in retailers and online".

The 16 winners, who matched all five main numbers and one lucky star, will receive £6,462,181.30 each.

Six of the winning tickets came from the UK, with five coming from France, two from Switzerland, and one each from Austria, Belgium and Portugal.

The countries which take part in EuroMillions are the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, the Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.

Dolores McNamara, from the Republic of Ireland, won £77m on the EuroMillions on 31 July 2005.

I think you'd still get the full DLA but would lose the car allowance.  ;)
