Stew, Al Queda are locals fighting a well oiled miliitary regime, probably the most well oiled in the world.

They cant just stand toe to toe and fight the yanks and brits, they would be destroyed. So they need to be a bit "sneakier" in their actions, but no less evil.

Unles its the same old crappy story of might is right? Al Queda are cowards unless they stand face to face with the Yanks?
