Computer/ Xbox help

I have joined my xbox and computer by ethernet cable, when i got to join up on my dashboard it says the IP address has failed, any ideas? Wish this was easier.

i connected my x box with  wireless adapter and had the same problem with the ip adresss.. i rang x box support and they talked me through it.. i had to put in the WEP network number and its working great . Fifa 08 online is great!!!!

With Eircom broadband I had to set the firewall to Low - that's the firewall on your router, not any software firewall you might have. The browser address of the firewall settings is in the manual. This probably works for any broadband provider and I haven't had any virus/spyware problems (at least, none that I know of)

Are you using the cable ms provided?
Are you connecting to a router?
What Operating system you trying to connect to ?
