As for Wales, nobody mentioned Scotland either but I assume nobody mentioned Wales or Scotland is because the original article isn't about Wales or Scotland.
Well Tonto is mentioning them both now, so where do you stand on the Scotland and Wales international football teams?

Would you care to tell their fans that theirs is not really a "country"?

And whilst you're at it, by your reasoning, there is no such country as England*.

Any thoughts?

* - Though exactly who it is has been oppressing the poor downtrodden Gaels of Ireland for the last 800 years etc must remain a bit of a mystery...

England, Wales and Scotland are not members of the UN, nor do they have soverign parliaments. Therefore they are not countries.

The 6 counties are NOT a nation.
Nor are the Faroe Islands.

I think it may be something to do with their having been colonised by an oppressive overseas invader, which is ruled by a Protestant hereditary monarchy and insists on spending huge amounts of money on subsidising it etc.

Oh well, I'm sure the poor oppressed Faroese will just have to take their pleasures where they may find them:

I just like to point out that 100% of the population do not support the occupied six soccer team.
I always like top point out that 100% of the population of Spain don't support the Spanish National team, either, despite their being World and European Champions.

I think some of them may have given up on the team after this:

Jaysus Evil Genius you're getting your knickers in an awful twist with your steam of sarcastic posts here.

England, Scotland and Wales are not technically countries, they are eligible to play in international soccer tournaments but unfortunately for you, Fifa does not have the power to bestow on them the status of fully fledged countries. All the sarcasm in the world can't change that. I would also make the point that the north of Ireland is not a similar parallel to Wales or Scotland due to recent (and not so recent) history, I thought that would have gone without saying but here we are.
I am all for unionist outreach and have campaigned in various forums against sectarianism and am proud to have done so, however I am still a republican and am not someone who believes that to reach out to unionism, I must constantly attack anyone who openly expresses nationalist/republican/anti-partitionist sentiments (or vise versa, which is why I have not attacked Worthington in this thread for his statements. Much and all as I disagree with his unsurprising view, he is still entitled to hold it).

Manager of OWC thinks that OWC should exist.

Manager of one team does not want his team replaced by neighbouring team.

Well, well, well.

Where is the news?
