Couple of easy suggestions -

1 - Don't carry cash around if possible (any change at end of each day put in a cookie jar)
2 - Do all shopping on credit card (place wages on 30 day deposit and pay credit card on due date and get benefit of interest earned) (don't carry card if possible either)
3 - Make own lunches and read papers on internet
4 - Stop trips to take-aways etc
5 - Do shopping in bulk and freeze food to keep it for later

I read once where by the average family can save as much as 40% on their weekly grocery bill
by adhering to #5 :o

Yeah but do you think they would have the sense to do something like that???? Even me as a single person save a lot of money this way....

Or maybe if you increased the size of you food bill you wouldnt have to eat aldi frozen fishfinger for dinner and stay in more saving loads of money. A good fillet steak in a butcher costs less that fish and chips in a chipper and home cooked fresh fish cost less than the drink yod have bwhile your waiting for a meak in a restraunt.
and another thing it drive me nuts to go into a house where they have cheapo tea bags where a box of 80 quality bags cost the same as One cup you buy in a pub.
that how to live the good life and still save money.

I would never lower myself to buy anything frozen from Aldi (only frozen food bough are pizzas - usually in a 2 for 1 deal....)
Buy sirloin/fillet steaks by the 4's/8's and you usually find its cheaper...(Don't know what size fillet steaks you are getting if they are cheaper than the chipper though!!!!!
Cases of water/minerals/juices rather than single bottles/cartons etc....

and the cheapskates that give you  "mild blend" instant coffee or the like, which has zero coffee in it.

Try water from the tap, that'll save you money.

Tysam - not living in Ireland at the moment so rather not use tap water.....to much hard water here in Edinburgh....

excuse my ignorance dfs1 but what is it about "hard water" that stops you wanting to drink it?
It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

Do you ever see all the limescale that builds up in a kettle after being used (that is effectively what is in the tap water)....I personally prefer not to drink it....
