Got engaged and was wondering can anyone recommend any venues for wedding. Preferably in the north, although i'll have a look at anything.
Any help greatly appreciated

Got engaged there a while back and the only hotel in the north I've checked out is the Canal Court, and it is some spot.  Checked out a few hotels in Monaghan/Dundalk as well and they where all in and around the same price.

Had the reception in the Canal Court in Newry, couldn't have beaten it.  Top food and a very nice venue.  Although you need to book well in advance.

i am booked in to the Armagh City Hotel myself for next July and any one i have spoken to tells me the food is great, and been in and had a look at the room, but it is currently getting/got renovated so need to get back in to have another look.

My Sister had her wedding in the Neuremore in Carrick and it was fantastic.  I'd probably put it slightly ahead of the Canal Court which is also excellent.  The four seasons in Carlingford is a great setting but I've heard some bad reports about the food out there recently.  The best food I've ever had a wedding was up in Harvey's Point just out side Donegal.  The setting is on a par with the Neremore but the food was even better.

Or alternatively get her father to pay for it as used to be the custom. A great custom. I have no daughters.

Congratulations. My brother got married two years ago and the reception was in the Radisson, Limavady. I thought it was a first class hotel for wedding. Great feed, good dance hall and the bar was great.

The staff were very friendly and they didn't push the members'-bar rule too much.
