Could someone explain how the format of the sigerson competition works.

Seen all that but how do teams qualify for the weekend? Is there a league or knockout competition?

Its a knockout competition before the weekend

AFAIK it's a strait knockout until the last fours teams left on the weekend.

Although eligibility for the Sigerson may depend on positions in the Ryan Cup. But don't quote me on that!
