About 6000 Germans did a youtube or google search for Gaelic Football yesterday. Anybody over there know what might have prompted this?

They must have heard that the new Irish leader was from the home of Gaelic football and they wanted to see what the stadiums were like, a handy thing to know since they will soon own them.
Bayern mayo!!!!!!

There are a good few clubs in Germany and they are pretty well supported as far as I know. Not sure if that has anything to do with the number googling football though.

I'd say somebody works in the Googleplex.

There was a big spike in the views of my Gaelic football youtube movie.  Youtube gives you all sorts of stats showing how people came across your video, what keywords were searched, where the users are etc. Very handy tool, shows you where people are posting your video and what they're saying about it.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Yeah, I doubt if it has anything to do with existing German GAA clubs. There wouldn't be 6000 GAA people in Germany, according to wiki there's 5 clubs there.

You might have something there. News articles about Enda Kenny sometimes have Gaelic football mentioned too.  I'm finding it a bit hard to track down any German language news articles though. But then the Germans are pretty decent anglophones anyway, so it wouldn't surprise me if they're reading English language news about the situation.

Still odd that it all happened on one day though, traffic has gone back down to a more normal level again, 600 hits per day.

Maybe the "Galvanised" look is spreading over there!

I'm in Germany quite a bit. Looks like my drunken rambles on the ' best game in the world ' are paying off !!

Well they were disgusted that we might not be taking the repayment of the bailout as a serious necessity, but then they were spying on our Eurovision entrant after rumours that we weren't taking it seriously again either. Then they discovered we don't take soccer that seriously too.  :D

I'd say it's bailout related.  There's talk that we're going to sell off our assets in lieu of payment, Enda said our most valuable, yet unobtainable asset was Sam Maguire.

Alternatively, sources have suggested that Enda and Merkel have agreed that we take on the hun in an escape to victory type match, if we win our debts are written off and if we lose we will try and pay them for another few months.
Little did Gerry know that we have the trump card, Pele named by an irish missionary in Brazil after the irish word for football has agreed to play for Ireland.
As the squads had already been agreed the talk is that Bertie has agreed to fall down the stairs drunk again in order to break his leg and make room for the great man as a last minute injury replacement.
