BT7, Are you going to the game because I am away that weekend and you won a little competition a while back but I was let down for tickets I promised you.  Mail me details if you want two Premiums for the day

GY Joe

Keary was injured.. He was a bottle carrier on the day, seem to remember him and the Cork equivalent shoulder charging each other on the side..

Whatever about the Dublin backs containing Canning and co. Our own FB line will have issues with Carton when he goes running..

thrilling match, was lucky to catch it when flicking through the channels.  almost missed extra time too, just assumed it went to a replay.

One point that did stick out in my mind was when the Cork forward was in on goal and as he pulled the trigger Mahon threw his stick across him, i don't think it struck him but did enough to put him of and he misfired his shot.  should the ref not have pulled that for a free, it was at a crucial time in the game.  also the equalising free was soft enough
What happens next????

It was the game of two Joe Cannings. One was where an overweight and rather unfit full-forward ambled about and was generally beaten by the full-back to every low-ball played into his vicinity. The other was where he came to centre-forward and virtually ignored his opponent who was having a blinder up to that point. He dictated everything during extra-time; batted over a couple of points from play like you'd swat a fly, set up the 2 goals with superb vision and sent wide a succession of line balls from a variety of (long ) distances. Some talent, it was like watching a young Joe Cooney again.

fabulous game- difficult to see us beating galway but sure we live in hope.

This was a hugely entertaining game.

The report really mirrors what I thought. Cork's no 5 and no 6 were very good. The full back also got the better of Joe Canning on a number of occassions. Naughton and the wee 13 were also very dangerous. Naughton has some pace but his choice of shot / pass leaves a bit to be desired at times.

Galway always looked a classier side you felt but they should have been beat in normal time. The goalie made some great saves and the no 6 / no 7 looked excellent. Canning and Wade and the wee 23 were all class. Canning can point from anywhere, his sideline cuts are as good as most peoples frees and he has great vision. He passed through to 13 in the first half and I don't think the wee 13 could believe he'd seen him so missed what should have been a certain goal and I think he did this another time or two. If that boy were to stop eating the pies he could be one of the best ever. Wade is very good too - possibly a bit light for the senior level but he'll fill out.

Pull Hard Hes No Relation

Great game although disappointed Cork lost, could have got a result in normal time although Galway better side in the ET period. Cadogen looks the real deal, saw him a couple of times already and could be the man to get Curran to push on a bit instead of resting on his laurels like the past couple fo seasons which would be great for the senior team.

Given the fact that this Galway team hammered their Cork counterparts at minor it has been a greta turnaround by Cork particularly with Paudie O'Sullivan out injured. With about 17-18 of the lads still underage next year it should be a great championship again with Tipp, Cork, Galway and Dublin all fancing their chances.

Canning as always is a class act when he gets going and could be the difference for the Galway seniors next year if he gives it a real go. Was at the Dublin V Derry game and while hard to judge Dublin effectively on that hard to see them holding the Galway forward line given the problems Derry gave them. Hope the Dubs win but don't think they will.

INDIANA

can't see us holding the galway full forward line- wish i could but i can't. the only thing is galway don't look too clever in their own full back-line- although Skehill is outstanding in goal.

Every game must be played on it's own merits Indiana; I wasn't too impressed with Wade the other day, he simply isn't strong enough yet to bundle past players and has a job to secure primary possession against a bigger opponent. Canning could also have an off-day and Galway still haven't a settled team, especially at midfield where young Harte was a long way off the pace. The Dubs might yet win an All-Ireland in Croker this year!
