Lads, it is simply supply and demand. There is a huge demand for big games and some people cannot get a ticket. If I was in this situation I would pay whatever it took to get into a Down game if I couldnt get a ticket. I am not condoning it, but I think the GAA should look at how it allocates tickets for big games. It is usually the man who goes to games during the winter who is last to get a ticket, while the local Parish Priest and Bank Manager are sitting in the Hogan come August and September.

couldn't agree more. i go to every single derry match i can. im fortunate that we dont have a big support so i'm not usually stuck for a ticket. i am not affiliated with any club so had to rely on a relative getting me a ticket for this saturday. i think its very unfair for people who attend all year to miss out on the big games beacuse somebody who couldnt even a name a palyer on the team decides they want to go to an AI semi or final.

i believe the GAA should make every county board bring in some sort of loyalty scheme similar to what soccer clubs do, whereby you keep your ticket stubs from matches attended that year and present it when applying for a ticket.

Well I was in Croke Park last Sunday and they said the attendance was 59,9 (hundred and something) but say 60,000

Well if there were 40,000 in Croke Park last Sunday it was about tops.   So where did the empty seats come from?  People who were afraid of a drop of rain and who then criticise players commitment- or- were the tickets for the block that was empty in the Hogan stand bought by our friends because they thought being an All-Ireland Semi and an Quarter Final they would have been saleable?   I can understand seats being empty here and there but blocks in the centre of the Hogan in good positions.  I hope to jaysus they, the resellers, bought them and were left with them.
