Just wondering if anyone knows where I can access some of the Seanchas Ardmacha volumes, either online or in person? I am particularly interested in the The Diamond Flight.

JSTOR has it but there is a €20/month or €180/annum subscription. Is that the only option?

Cheers.

I have JSTOR access, and can browse the Seanchas Ardmhacha: Journal of the Armagh Diocesan Historical Society. Is there anything you wanted in particular?

Thats great cheers.

Vol 3 (1) 1958 p. 17 - 50 is the reference I have.

It is the lists of names of people migrating (forced out) who went to Mayo. Any other similar lists would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again Orior.

Some information here might be of use.

Thanks for that HD.

Some names there that are very common around Mayo these days.

This is the part that interests me in particular:

County Mayo.  Lord Altamount estimated the entry to Co. Mayo of 800 families (4,000 individuals) up until 27th November, 1798. Apart from definite statements that the trend continued in 1797, there is no specific estimate for that year.

I believe the Seanchas Ardmacha volumes might have details on who they were, where the came from and where they ended up.

If these people had any interest in football and a modern attitude they would have demanded to be allowed go to Kerry instead.
