Things that annoy me about refereeing

I feel sorry for footballers who have to try and workout what type of referee will turn up   Some refs are very sloppy and let all sorts go and then dig his heels in over some trivial offence  The following list covers things which I find most annoying
1. refs allowing players to take frees from the wrong place  - I mean where the player starts his run from where the foul occurred and eventually kicks the ball from in front of the posts. For frees about 45/50 metres out a couple of metre stolen is crucial  The position of the kicking is not so important for a free out of defence
2 Throw passes - it is not possible to make a hand pass with ONE hand In my view at least a quarter of passes are throws
3. Square balls are only given when a 45 is taken - because the ref is up with the play.  Why dont umpires advise the ref
4. Forwards constantly get frees even though they have grabbed the defender - we saw it yesterday in the Tyrone/Monaghan match.  Everyone (apart from refs) knows this is happening but week after week we see the frees given and defenders booked.  Could umpires and linesmen(as in soccer) not advise the ref.  At present the only time linesmen intervene is to identify a player who strikes

Then there are the frees to a team mate where the ball travels about 6 or 7 metres .
Some years ago in a TV game a ref gave a free for one of these and the commentator/analyst were totally perplexed  :D

refs stopping the play, lecturing for 30 secs and then ticking a player. ffs.

referees assessors are the problem

the score the referee gets for his performance will affect the fixtures they get in the future so they are always under pressure (to do the 'right' thing)

Tyrones own

  1) The f**king black book all day long because he has no balls to show anything else >:(
  2) Blowing up lads for picking a ball that's rolling off the ground one day but not the next, which is it  ::)
  3) Linesmen and umpires that choose to see nothing

Oh that's right - the Irish Sun is always right - if Mickey had been in Tyrone reffing a club game, he would have walked off on Sunday !

On a separate note, I think eveybody in Ireland now wants Dublin beat after their silly antics - goading players and officials - high fives when being subbed etc - They were a disgrace to football - it should be stopped - but then their manager doesn't give good example either -

Of course no other teams celebrate winning.....of course no other team/player ever goads the opposition....and when did they goad the officials?????

Of course it would be better to just hit people off the ball, abuse the ref after the game, dive, cheat, use any technicalities to get off suspensions,

While I accept that many so called hand passes are throw balls, it has always been my understanding that a one handed hand pass is allowed as long as their is a clear striking action after the toss.  The problem as I see with the one handed hand pass is that players are forced into because there other hand is being held.

Dubs - you really aren't gainnig anything by this attitude in thr long term and you're losing respect - you're behaving more like a soccer team than a gaelic team which is sad cos I think you've got a real good side with a good backroom team - but win with dignity and lose graciously ! What did the first aid man do on you ? Did he assault some of the players or what ?

Getting back to the point, with out the referees there would be no games!  The best referees should ref he big games and as said previously they are assessed for each game.

What I would say is that is very hard to see a player pulling their appont down unless
1) you are in line with the action which given the speed of the game it is unlikely
2) you seer the replay of the incident.  Again the speed of the action etc.

Would having two referees,ie one for each half as in hockey be a good idea?  Are there any referees at whatever level on the board?  Comments.
