The Kildare team to face Louth in Saturdays All-Ireland Qualifier is listed below. Patrons are asked to leave early for the match on Saturday evening. Parking facilities will be in operation around the town and the gate at the Kilcullen end of the ground will be operational.

1 Enda Murphy
2 Eamonn Callaghan
3 Kevin O'Neill
4 Andrew McLoughlin
5 Anthony Rainbow
6 Mark Hogarty
7 Emmet Bolton
8 Ronan Sweeney
9 David Lyons
10 James Kavanagh
11 John Doyle
12 Ken Donnelly
13 Michael Conway
14 Jason Phillips
15 Padraig O'Neill

Kavanagh, McLoughlin and Rainbow all very lucky to hold on to their places. We were lucky to beat Louth in the league but are confident we can win this.

QuotePaddy Keenan was brilliant again, an amazing footballer. Chipping in 1.1 and a screamer of a point from forty yards off his "weak" foot.

Fantastic display from Keenan, the difference between two poor sides, his goal at the end, a beauty, was just reward for almost single handle dragging Louth through this game.

QuoteKildare went on the have five wides before registering their first score. While not to point a finger, Doyle must have had around ten wides over the game it was prob a defining factor in Kildare not scoring much.

This is very true amd to be honest after 20 minutes Kildare should have had Louth dead and buried. But Louth's cynical tactics prevailed, they double teamed Doyle and pulled and dragged and rugby tackled him every time he got he ball, he got zero protection from a truly terrible ref who just could not keep up with play.

Louth in the second half were just intent on running down the clock and nearly every second minute a Louth player was down receiving treatment. It worked as Kildare could get no fluency to their game and were being completely cleaned out at midfield, our midfield, half-backs and full-forward line were a disaster. JC too slow to make changes but we paid the price again for having no midfield.

Louth are galvanised and determined, the tight pitch in Newbridge suited them, will be a handful for any side and would fancy them to make the quarter finals. Paddy Keenan take a bow son, a top top footballer...

thanks dinny, as a louthman i also thought that doyle came in for a bit of rough treatment but if a team is let get away with it by a poor, poor ref why would they stop??
On the topic of rough treatment, what about the abuse paddy keenan took in the second half?? He was also being pulled and dragged for every kickout and then, when goin for a high ball, was creamed leaving him barely fit to walk for the remainder of the match. If this wasn't bad enough, as the Louth physio came out to treat him Kildare's no. 8 (Sweeney) ran over and stamped on his back. I know a few in the stands seen this and Sweeney was lucky no officials caught it as it was a disgusting act.

Also, the highlights tonight on the Sunday Game was disgraceful. One camera at pitch level meaning you couldn't see most of the action (most of all keenan's humdinger of a goal) while there was absolutely no talk about the game after by the panellists. As supposedly 'weaker' counties I don't expect to get a half hour of analysis but a bit of respect and appreciation wouldn't have been amiss

Why not a Saturday game to give full attention to the Qualifiers .Given the weather we are having it is not easy to bring kids to matches ,Local radio is the only media out let giving these games the attention they deserve

It worked, so I've no complaints against Louth just the ref, the referee was too weak to do anything, seemed out of his dept.

I think Kildare realised they were physically getting hammered, Keenan was the difference so they targeted him physically again the ref was too weak to give him protection but he showed his class with that goal at the end. Didn't see Sweeney's alleged stamp, he has a bit of previous in that regard so wouldn't be surprised but I'm sure Roly like everyone else was just frustrated with Louth's running down the clock, although no excuse for stupidity..

Louth are in a great position, game against Cork will probably be in Portlaoise, so they'll have a pitch that will suit them, complete underdogs but they are battle hardened and have momentum, Cork have played one half of football, they are there for the taking.

yeah sure as a kildare man JD is expected to get attention. if we had a player tod o the same as fanning we'd be happy.

instead we have jinnets who try to hit the wrong way and niggle bigger men who brush them off and make them look like fools. hello adrew mcgloughlin.
jaysus he sickened me saturday. puckin at ur man white off the ball as he was firing over points. and then givin away cheap frees.

as for goin at keenan, that got us far didnt it!!

Don't get that, pitch in Portlaoise isn't that small or tight. Cork also played very well on it in a qualifer a couple of years ago (I think against Sligo).
Well I could keep it above
But then it wouldn't be sky anymore
