Alternative Formats for Dinner-dance

Traditionally our club would have good numbers (100+) at our annual dinner-dance for a club of our size. In the past 4/5 years there has been serious decline in numbers and last years event had a record low in numbers.

Feedback from club members on why they do not attend has been that the dinner-dance format is now outdated and some believe it is not worth the money.

Just wondering if anyone out there has experienced/organised an alternative format to a dinner-dance for a close of season awards ceremony? If so any that have been particularly good? Also have any been particularly poor and should be avoided?

Cheers in advance

We changed ours to a new format and it was a huge success.
Couples were allowed.
Single girls were allowed.
Single fellas weren't allowed.
When you arrived you put your car keys in a bowl.

It's time to do away with the provincial dinner dances.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

The Dubs dinner dance should be split in two.

Make it a Black Tie event, call it a Gala,  double the ticket price and you'll be beating them back at the doors.
