In Tipperary, Michael Ryan cut a pile of lads last week including Conor Kenny, and (interestingly for the footballers maybe) Bill Maher. But Cork's cuts are either desperation or a real statement of intent.

FORMER captains Shane O'Neill and Patrick Cronin have been released from the Cork senior hurling panel ahead of the Munster SHC quarter-final with Tipperary on May 22, along with other experienced players Paudie O'Sullivan, Cian McCarthy and Stephen Moylan.

Bord na Mona man

A few years ago that would have lead to a strike in Cork!
They must be all driving the Luas instead these days.

Less chopping and changing equals stability. Dropping players frequently is a sign of incoherence. I have extensive experience of it as a Galway fan.  :o

I repeat. Every county culls players that featured in the league before the Championship starts. It's just part of the whole annual cycle. Maybe what you mean is the successful counties, and let's be honest, you mean Kilkenny :) don't normally jettison experienced campaigners in this manner. I think you'd be correct there.

I'm not sure about other counties but there won't be any players culled from the Tyrone camp ahead of the championship.
