The club fixtures pile up in Monaghan is a farce. Our senior team has/will have play the following fixtures:

Saturday 28th April- Senior league match (
Wednesday 2nd May- Senior league match
Saturday 5th May- Senior League Match
Monday 7th May- Senior league Match
Wednesday 9th May- Senior league Match. Total of 5 games in 12 days.

Plus our Junior B's played yesterday and have another fixture on Sunday 8th May. Our C team have a game this evening and another on Monday 7th May.

Some of our players played Saturday in a hard hitting game and again yesterday in the Junior B. One of them didn't last till half time and the others were well busted by the end of it.

By the 9th May its hard to see the games been played at any kind of level with players worn out. For younger players it wouldn't help the burnout issue and the county players are just after a long league campiagn.

Its a total farce and I believe it comes from pressure from the county management to give them plenty of free weekends before the ulster match in June.

Anybody else having a fixture pile up like this?

Our next Senior game is not until May 26th or 27th Bingo so its the complete opposite to you.  >:(
Two Junior B games over the next two weekends is no good for those of us in the first 12.

In Down, we have had 5 games in the space of 2 weeks, but that is going to calm down now with games only on a Friday evening, rather than a monday and Friday!
