Cork hurler Patrick Horgan says that players need to be mentally tough and savvy to survive social media abuse. Hence, ignore trolls and all that.

Actually, social media is a very powerful influencer to everyone. It becomes an avenue to cyberbully players and other known personalities. Aside from players ignoring trolls, we, users of social media, should also be responsible to what we post. They deserve our respect. And through that respect, maybe that will be the cause of the victories of our favourite teams. You know, positive vibes attract good fortune!

social media has many positive aspects *(eg this fantastic site( but it also has a very dark side of bullying, verbal thuggery and psychological pressure especially on the likes of twitter and FB . Players do not need this kind of abuse. It has nothing to do with the games.

That Facebook is a curse...the people who are hooked on that crap and the sh1te they think they have to post is unreal. I always say don't say anything on any social media that you wouldn't say to anyone's face and you'll be ok.
