Good game alright. Tipp only have themselves to blame. Shot some terrible wides. They were also level with 15 minutes to go, with the wind and a man up.

Great game between Clare v Waterford last night.
I saw the last few minutes and it looked poor. Both sides hit about 6 wides each.
The U21 is all Tipperary need for the Munster treble and I'd expect Limerick tonight to be a bigger challenge than Clare in the final.

Didn't happen! The treble that is
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Considering Tipp didn't play any hurling for the first 20 mins, they should have won the game.

But fair play to Limerick

Dipped in and out of this game, missed most of the first half, but in the second half Tipp did indeed look the better team, but credit to the Limerick lads, when Tipp pulled level they went and got the points to keep the margin. One of the subs in particular came off with two fantastic catches from puckouts in the last 10 minutes to take the pressure off as Tipp were pushing hard for the lead.

The fact that the Limerick keeper was MOTM tells you all you need to know, but I'd still have Clare as slight favourites although its hard to judge.

Tipperary should have played with the wind in the first half and built up a lead. Never give counties like Limerick a glimmer of hope!

Canalman

Watched game in dribs and drabs. Maybe it was the weather but the standard not a patch on the game in Ennis the night before. Way more space for all the players.

Limerick keeper made some save just before halftime............. as good as I have seen although Tipp forward should have scored given the time and space he had.

Limerick is a bigger pitch
Tipp never got their noses in front. Three bad wides in a row ruined them

DF deserves another year with them  and I reckon he will be a much better manager next year.

Not too many Clare fans would agree with that Canalman. There's a poll on the Clarehurlers forum and 89% want him gone. There's also a thread entitled "Davy out" that's 19 pages long so far, and the general mood seems to me to be that while he's been a great servant to Clare hurling, this is their golden generation and he's blowing it. I thought he deserved another year after last year's poor season but I don't think he deserves another chance. There is massive talent there(the u-21s with one senior starter beat Waterford who had half of their senior team playing) and he hasn't won a game of note in 2 years.

There is also a sense that he's way too stubborn to leave, and might have enough friends in high places to hang in there, unless the players revolt.

I would agree - I think it's time for him to move on. I think what he brings to it probably works for a bit but I would say year upon year of how intense he is would be very draining on players so he obviously did very well but I think he has maybe hit the end of his lifespan.

Missed these two u21 games but the munster u21 is generally as good as you'll see all year.

Having all the U21s training together all the time probably helped Clare
Same with Limerick last night
Tipp and Waterford were very disjointed

The save he made from Ronan Maher in the 2nd half was even better; it also won him the TG4 MOTM gong.

gallsman

Poor stuff from Wexford there, think they'll be quite disappointed.

"Antrim manager Kevin Ryan, taking charge of the county for the final time, had predicted a "massive hiding" for his charges"

From the Rte report, strange motivation angle from the manager  :o

If Antrim had a full pick and did some training they'd be a match for most teams at this grade.
They are not helped by the knockout nature of the competition.

Ryan was clearly having a final swipe at the county board and clubs
