GaillimhIarthair

An absolute legend of the game and the most complete hurler on this Island for a long long time.

It is widely acknowledged that Galway would have the AI in 2012 only for Henry's surreal display in the drawn final - he just seemed to operating at a totally different level to everyone else on the pitch that day, which is saying something considering some of the talent that was on display.

From a purely selfish Galway perspective, I am not sorry to see the back of him BUT it was always a pleasure to see an absolute genius in action.

Enjoy the retirement Chief....................

Rumours that One Direction are playing Langtons on Saturday with Henry replacing Zayn Malik.

I don't think so.

Shefflin is filling in for the lad from Queens Of  The Stone Age.

One of a kind. A happy retirement King Henry

I have been lucky enough to be in his company on a few occasions....hard to believe a superstar like that can be so decent and humble...

Nice of him to have a soft spot for the Tipp lads;

"It's easy for me to say and it's hard to come across in a statement, but I'm very fortunate that I'm from Kilkenny and we've had so much success. For the other players putting in the effort from the weaker counties, they're the ones I really tip my hat to.

Premier Emperor

Best of luck to him in his retirement. He was some player in his day, but maybe he stayed on too long.
Referees won't miss his constant moaning though.

the only time tipp beat them in the championship was he wasn't on the field Premier Emperor, Tipp will never have one like him anyway.  he has as many all ireland medals than what tipp have won in over 60 years says it all ;D

We had Jimmy Doyle before Shefflin was even born!
