Our club would never buy anything based outside the republic.
Too many people out of jobs down here and money is hard raised.

Seriously think about all the stuff it takes to run a club, none of it comes from outside the Republic?? WUM lol!! best yet
Yeah, but we buy it from companies in the south. We don't contribute to the UK economy.
Out of a senior squad of 20+ lads, I'd say 4-5 are out of work.
Think about that when buying services and products

We have got jerseys, bags, hoodies, training equipment, goalposts from local companies. And we've made sure our members and others know we are putting money into the local area.

Every club has people unemployed ffs. Putting money as you put it back into the local area won't have a factor on these lads getting jobs. I think its a very noble thing to do but it actually may cost your club more money to buy this stuff locally rather than trying to find the cheapest option, due to most people not having the extra money they may not have the extra money to buy the stuff!!

Anyway that could be a different thread topic altogether

Thats not altogether true MR2, while the €1000 spent on jerseys from a local supplier wont get a job, if all the local clubs buy of him then he needs to take on someone. Its more than a noble thing to do, its the reason we have the guaranteed irish brand and other initiatives like it

Just of a matter of interest what is the name of this local clothing firm, does he actually produce these tops in a local clothing factory? Is the fabric made in the Republic also?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

the factory is down the road and does the printing and embroidery
and employs locals
I don't know where the garments are made.

point being, money spent local stays local.

Just asking as the foreign workers in places that I would be in send a fair chuck of their money home, thus not being spent in the local community as you have pointed out, may be different where you are

Lads I know this topic is about mugs and while I appreciate the air time it was t the responses I was wanting so could you MUGS cut it out.:)

I honestly thought this was a good and novel way for clubs to do a bit of fund raising as most of the clubs and companies make on average £2/3 per mug and when you see the quality of these they are not a hard sell.
So if you are intetested get in touch, if not, no harm done.

And for what it's worth our mugs are sourced in Ireland( Republic to some) Ireland to me.

And if you find someone local to do these go for it but don't waste too much time looking.

Jeepers Creepers

Are they dishwasher proof, our club wont buy any that aren't dishwasher proof. German dishwasher! Her name is Olga ;D
