Or maybe he means he's an outstanding footballer but he has little chance of silverware with the retards he plays with now and would have a better shot with the "other" local club.

That is an outrageous statement.

I don't think Collie, to be fair to him, was suggesting the weaker kids were that but that that was how 'Zip code' might have been interpreting his sons team to be, i.e too useless for my little Johnny.

My own view is that kids should be allowed transfer without any hassle from one club to the other.

Again - gobsmacked with this remark!

I'm sorry I got involved now!! Just to clarify, I don't think either poster was actually calling any child a 'retard' and I certainly didn't view your phrase 'not working out' as meaning your son was too good for his current team. I didn't view it any way as I think a child should be allowed transfer regardless of the reason.

Zip Code

I think Collie Brolly specifically called children retards - he must be really proud of himself - lets hope he never gets involved with any activity involving children with those views.

Is there no family connection to any club in the area?

There is a family connection to both clubs - one on my side one on my wife's side.

in fairness eery one know he was talking about them in a football sense , no need for any one to get on their high high horse about it.
Different kids are good at different things .
some of the best footballers i iknow were idiots in a classroom and vice versa.
and some of us were just great at both
if some one want to exprerss that  in a less sensitive manner it no ones job  here to police their language except Ziggy and the Mods
If you make yourself understood, you're always speaking well. Moliere

Dear lord, talk about an overreaction from the Joe Duffy brigade. In fairness it wasn't the greatest remark pc wise that I could have used but the point I'm making, which at the time I made it but since has been clarified by zippy, was that the lad may be better than his teammates, say for example they may be playing at a lower division where standards in terms of training  and prepation may not be as good as what's on offer down the road.Of course it could also be the other way round re the teams.
It's like this, where he be happier and more importantly he can move immediately without it gettin messy.Won't get into it but I have a similar dilemma comin up next yr when me own lad starts out.
Unreserved apologies to you Zip Code and only you,if you were offended and good luck to the young lad.The rest of you come off your high horses, you are spouting bigger bile on other threads.

I'd not worry to much about it Collie, the OP can spout a fair bit of bile out of him too..
