I don't think any result against Carlow marks anyone out as anything.

Unless you're Meath in 2013.

If you were any use you'd be playing.

I don't understand.

*Louth, and in 2011 at that.

Sure the Louth lads won't mind the mix-up.

I think teams can be marked out by how they approach games against counties like Carlow, but when you score seven goals I think the point spread is moot anyways.

Meath weren't great today to be fair. I'd be hoping for a big improvement the next day especially in the forward line. A lot of attacks broke down in the final third. Graham Reilly didn't see much of the play, Mickey Newman didn't look too interested to me and Stephen Bray had his usual quota of wides. In the backs Mickey Burke was loose and the midfield was even enough up until half-time. Carlow were desperate and looked like a team thrown together. And the reality is they probably were.

I know Carlow not  a big county and likely  a smaller population than Louth or possible Leitrim but there no way a inter county should be conceding 7 goals, Armagh clocked someone for 8 goals 2yrs ago too. What way are these teams set up? ie: they don't seem to have a set standard of play, even the weakest teams in Ulster if weak will set up very defensive

Carlow has a bigger population than Leitrim. Just a complete inability to get their best 15 on the field I'd question whether the side they put out would win the Carlow SFC.

They should put all their resources into the hurling after that debacle.

That team we had out yesterday wouldn't even come close to winning the Carlow SFC. A few playing yesterday are Intermediate players and 2 are subs on their senior club side. If we had all players available 2 possibly 3 of that team would start on a proper Carlow team.

That hammering yesterday came as no surprise to anyone in Carlow, it was very much expected.
