What are Monaghan known for? Big Tom and Dougal? Didn't McGuigan wish he was born somewhere else and there was the blueshirt fella O'Duffy.
Laois have Darina Allen, Evelyn Cusack and Eileen Dunne!!!! There's just no contest here even before the ace card is produced.
Timmy Bowe, Patrick Kavanagh
And James Cecil Parke is worth a check on Wikipedia

Clones hasn't done too bad over the years in producing sportsmen.

Is Timmy Bowe any relative of Tommy Bowe?

WTF lads.. I though I'd visited Tony Harts website by mistake. You start of a thread about a football match, go away, and when you come back find something resembling the wall of a creché.. Can everyone sit back down in their chairs and concentrate on the topic please..

If Laois can serve up quality of the standard of 'Don't Matter''s graphics we're in for a really good game.

For the first time Northern Sound coverage was not interrupted by the mogadon influenced, insipid commentary on a Cavan game.
The Monaghan commentary team manage to make the most bland encounter sound like a gladiatorial exciting encounter but probably this game  didn't match that excitement.
Despite this result, Laois still have a reasonable chance to stay in Div 2.

This was a poor game. We were expected to win and we expected to win, but there was anything but a gulf in class between the two sides.

Laois defended in numbers and double marked McManus. We missed a lot of scorable chances, Laois took good scores in the first half with the wind, and the atmosphere in the stand was flat. We waited for Monaghan to pull away, yet were glad of a wide being registered as a score towards the end of the first half.

With the wind at our backs in the second half we did up the tempo and deserved the win. The result was obvious 15 minutes out, even though we didn't see the bench emptied. I'd have liked to see O'Hanlon coming in to midfield to show what he can do. Best for Monaghan - Fintan Kelly, Karl O'Connell and Dessie Mone. Donaghy, subbed, did well too and Gallogly did well when he came on. Our tackling was good, we were ponderous going forward. Darren Hughes injected the necessary bite, but a few didn't perform like they were competing for their places.
