Uk road tax will be levied on all visiting HGV vehicles from the beginning of april.  Im not sure of the ammount but this will disadvantage irish reg trucks and will only lead to counter measures by the irish gov. The whole thing stinks and only drives up the cost of doing businsess

Was this not envisaged as part of the GFA ?

There'll be a grant or some damn thing to sort this out and if not get the flegs out again.

The tax is aimed at eu trucks from eg germany who charge uk trucks road tax based on estimated mileage.
Hopefully there will be an accmodation for paddy since this could effect nordie trucks just nipping over the border for fuel driving up costs even further ie if the mexicans decide to tax uk truck

The EU needs to get to grip with all of these motorway stickers etc as they are an impediment to people travelling around.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B
