New book published, dealing with Paddy MacFlynn's Presidency of the GAA during the Hunger Strike, and the preview in to-day's Irish News describes how this traumatic time nearly split the GAA. Should be a fascinating read.

Paddy not doing to well at the minute around 94 I think great stories from him when you stop for a chat. True Gentleman

95 according to Irish News article. This should be a top class read.I was in Clones at the 1981 Ulster Final when the Hunger Strike protest took place on the field at half time.It will be fascinating to read how the GAA leadership kept the organisation together during this difficult period.

Just read on Down twitter account that Paddy passed away late last night. A great Gael and massive loss to the Gaa. RIP

T Fearon

Read the news myself on twitter this morning, from his former club in his native Co Derry.Ironically the book was to be launched tonight at 7.30pm at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry. I assume this event will be cancelled. RIP.

All of a Sludden

The book launch has indeed been cancelled. May he rest in peace.
I'm gonna show you as gently as I can how much you don't know.
