Has anyone bought the DVDs...are they the same format as the original programme? I heard there was problems with them getting rights to use the music that was on the originals.

the program covers the decade in 250 minutes, but the dvds do it in 150 mins,so quite alot of it is cut out.something to do with rights as you said.the televised versions are online as far as i know.
Fcuk you I won't do what ya tell me!!!

I really enjoyed that tonight. As stated many times on the thread, by far the best show RTE has produced.

The Real Laoislad

Just watched it,had it sky plused.
Really enjoyed it,can't believe some of the stuff is ten years ago.
I was at that years All Ireland Final,I went to Coppers after the match and met a fine young nurse from Kilkenny who was out celebrating their win...I wonder what ever happened her... :(

Was there ever a time when Taxi drivers weren't complaining about something?
Actually I wonder are some of the moaners on here Taxi drivers with the amount of complaining they do?

I was looking forward to seeing 2003 and it mentions the All-Ireland Football Final. They started with the 'controversial' semi-final between Tyrone and Kerry......  RTE, eh!  ::)

Well in fairness, people are still going on (and on) about it, and 'puke football' is now a term in the Hiberno-English dictionary (I made that bit up), so it's not unreasonable to include it.

Id have thought the fact that two Ulster teams contesting the AI

Just watched the 1998 programme. The bit at the end with the Omagh bomb footage and Massive Attack's Teardrop as the backing track was real powerful stuff. Brilliant series in every way.

That has to go down as a legendary Gaybo performance.

He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but Pat Kenny, Ray  D'Arcy, Tubridy etc would just have interrupted and spoiled it. Gaybo just sat back. He knew instantly what he had on the hook.
