The game is all about pace now.
Next year we will have the black cards which will make life even harder for defenders.
Any team that doesn't have a national sprint champion in their forward line may as well stay at home.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Geezer better have the lads chasing chickens over the winter Dinny.
You'll need greasy fast speed if you hope to live with us or the Dubs.

Seriously though, it's dead.
It was embarrassing to watch Kerrys ham-fisted attempt to implement it today too.

This is what I call "jinxy wind up week". It happens every year at the quarter final stage which is typically just after Meath have exited the championship. He pretty much has a pop at everybody. Its quite entertaining.

I certainly hope so.  I watched a game last week at club level whereby one team aped the defence first style approach and scored then on the break.  The team they were playing allowed this to happen for the first 10 minutes and left 3 men free in their own defence.  After 10 minutes the 'defensive' team were up by 5 points.  They didn't kick the ball, simply passed it through the hand until they had the runner coming from half back to break through the line.  Anyway, the other team went man for man after that and pressed right up on them, left only 3 men in their own defence against 3 forwards.  The outscored them 15 points to 6 for the rest of the game and scored at least 6 times directly from dispossessions in the oppositions back line.  They kept a high line to borrow a soccer term and put them under immense pressure when in possession.  The opposition tried to kick pass it out of defence a few times and they couldn't actually do it.  It is quite clear they didn't do any of it in training.  In fact their manager went ape-shit when they did it and at one stage gave a clear, direct order to stop kick passing, 'no more f**king kicking, only work it through the hand' was his direct quote.  Thank f**k some managers know that the ball is allowed to be kicked and when kicked accurately and at pace no blanket will stop it.

These things go in cycles.
The next few years will be dominated by positive, attacking teams like Mayo, Dublin and Meath.
