What's wrong with them?

I wanted €100 e/w on an 8/1 shot in a maiden hurdle last year. The girl on the call desk told me I could have €50 win at 4/1! I politely declined and walked down to the local independent who happily laid me 8/1.

Few years ago I noticed they had the odds for Mayo v Fermanagh backwards on the screen. I bet on Mayo and asked her to write the odds on, after the match I noticed she hadn't and I got their shitty odds. I won but f**k all. My point is I would not have bet on Mayo for such poor odds, the risk factor only seemed worth it when I thought I was getting Mayo to win at what should have been Fermanagh to win odds. Was gutted, thought I had made a killing. I know you have to make sure you write the odds down, but I thought it was poor form.
